Maheshkhali Island is positioned in the Bay of Bengal and off the shore of Cox's Bazar with a total area of 362.18 sq km. This is a common tourist spot for the tourists who visits Cox's Bazar. This island consists of 170 villages and it takes about half an hour by local Trawler or Speed Boat from Cox's Bazar jetty. Adinath temple and Buddhist Monastery is main tourist attraction of this island with some salt plants where tourists can have some practical experiences of salt processing. Adinath temple is located on top of small hill where tourists usually walk up to the hill top, get a bird eye view of the whole island. Tourists also can pray with the followers while visiting the beautiful temple. The Buddhist Monastery is also located near Adinath temple, tourists also can have a religious visit over there.
