Swatch of No Ground, briefly SONG is a crib-shaped sea basin or canyon that crossed the continental shelf diagonally located 50 Kilometers offshore of Dublar Island (north western part of the Bay of Bengal) of Sundarban reserve forest. The location of the underwater canyon or sea basin got a drastic increase in depth from only 10 meters to over 500 meters and the change in the depth creates a distinct, sudden color change of the water which is clearly noticeable on the surface. The Swatch of No Ground plays a crucial role in transporting sediments from the continental shelf to the deep-sea fan and fish productivity which makes this place a perfect living atmosphere for Whales and Dolphins!!!!
